midday storage yard for GO trains
As can be seen in this photo, the construction of a midday storage yard for GO trains (located in the SE corner of the West Don Lands), mentioned in an earlier post, appears to be almost complete.

Transit blogger Steve Munro reveals how you can see the Lower Bay subway station (for six weekends from February 18 to March 31, 2007). Consider it urban exploration, but from the safety of a subway car.
GO Transit improvements
Also in the Jan 2007 Bulletin are details of planned railway changes in downtown Toronto, part of the GO Transit Rail Improvement Program and Union Station renewal projects. Closest to Corktown will be “a new midday storage yard for GO trains is planned for the former freight tracks south of the rail corridor between Cherry St. and the Don River.”
