New developments (Nov 2006)
| In addition to a townhouse project currently under construction (SE corner of Queen + St. Paul - see pic #1), several other residential developments are planned for Corktown.549 King E (at Sumach): 6 story, 44 unit residential, ground floor commercial (new construction). Percy Street residents will be following this development closely.
19 River (just N of Queen - pic #2): 5 story, 38 unit, live-work (warehouse conversion) “Fieldgate townhomes” - their billboard appears at River St, (E side, just south of Shuter). Their website has a slick jazzy video - totally misleading since it shows scenes from Queen / Broadview area; no details are provided about this River St development. “Townhomes of New(?) Corktown” (pic #3 - SW corner of Shuter + River, formerly the site of a Petro Canada gas station) has lots of details on their website, which suggests that 10 of the 16 units are sold; this project has been marketed for several months. |
